Why nature preserves are different from dog parks

Most nature preserves and state parks welcome leashed dogs — usually on a 6-foot maximum leash — but pets are typically NOT allowed in adjacent State Nature Preserves, on boardwalks with sensitive ecosystems, or in visitor buildings. Always read the dog policy on each park's page before you go.
